The International Leader of Tomorrow Award recognizes international undergraduate students who demonstrate superior academic achievement, leadership skills, involvement in student affairs and community service, recognized achievement in fields of endeavour such as the performing arts, sports, debating or creative writing, or external academic competitions and examinations. The Gulen Institute Youth Platform has announced its fifth international essay contest, which is open to all high school students in grades 9th through 12th currently enrolled in public or private schools from across the nation and abroad. Students are invited to address global challenges and propose potential solutions based on their own research and experience. Contest winners will also be invited to participate in a platform held in Washington DC, at which they will have the opportunity to share their ideas and listen to their peers from around the world. With this program, We hope to provide a chance for youth from around the world to engage each other in discussion and to advance cross-cultural understanding.
Topic of this year is:
“What role should state and non-profit agencies play in the education of disadvantaged youth who are not realizing their potential?”

Top35-Under35CEO Awards aims to encourage and promote entrepreneurship amongst young Africans. Annually, the programme will highlight and provide recognition to 35 young entrepreneurs under the age of 35 who are making change happen through their entrepreneurial endeavours.
Who are the young entrepreneurs shaping the future of Africa? These are the people that the Top35-Under35CEO Awards seeks to identify and promote.

As a Delegate you join the World Business Dialogue in March 2014 in Cologne, Germany.

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is open to residents and citizens of a Sub-Saharan Africa country. Applicants must be a first-time applicant to the University of Toronto who has not yet begun university study elsewhere. If you are a transfer student, you are not eligible for the Program.
In order to be eligible, you must:
- be a resident and a graduating high school student of a country within Sub-Saharan Africa;
- demonstrate financial need correspondent to that of the lowest two quintiles of your country;
- have very strong academic results within your school system;
- have a record of leadership and extracurricular involvement;
- maintain a strong desire to return to Africa to assist and work towards enhanced regional socioeconomic development;
- be graduating from a recognized secondary school, or have completed the necessary academic requirements; and
- fulfill the necessary English requirements (dependent on country).
